Timber from European forests. We cut the distances to save the environment! The responsible environmentally friendly choice.
Quality parquet is the result of careful, painstaking searching and selection of the raw material: the wood. Cadorin is fully aware that by cutting distances when procuring wood, it can help the environment by reducing its climate impact due to the emission of greenhouse gases by vehicles, and promote the local natural heritage at the same time. To guarantee more transparent dealings with the consumer, the Planks whose noble layer is made from close provenance are now marked with the logo "MORE WOOD = FEWER KM" in the Cadorin price lists. The distance in km from the source of the wood to the Cadorin's factory is indicated, for each wood, in the pricelist.
The careful selection of adult trees on forests of supply, is made in rational and concious way. The removal of adult trees permits the growth of new young plants that gives back new life and oxygen to the forest. To produce timber, it needs only water, solar energy and carbon dioxyde, growing as a renewable natural material.
The Green Building is the choice to build their own homes with natural and no harmful materials, with new techniques that industry is able to provide. Natural materials, which do not harm people who live there, who are not dangerous for those who produce them, for those who put them in place and who is to dismantle and recycle, this is ecology.
The various wood types marked with the MORE WOOD = FEWER KM logo includes: Oak, Pear, Chestnut, Cherry, Elm, Acacia, Walnut, Beech, Larch and Fir.
* Also the wood used to support the planks (counterbalance layer) is carefully tracked and covered by FSC or PEFC certification.
